Springfield’s African American History Museum ends March’s Women’s History Month with panel discussion featuring ALPLM director

The Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum ended Women’s History Month with a panel discussion featuring Executive Director Christina Shutt from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum – as well as a whole host of other notable individuals.

These women – Director Shutt, AAHM Vice President and Vice President of Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Southern Illinois University Dr. Sheila Caldwell, and Ward 5 Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase – all shared their experiences as trailblazers in their field this past Saturday, March 30, at the “Keys to Success: Women Breaking Barriers” event.

In other, related news, Executive Director Nalo Mitchell has served and successfully completed her one-year contract with the museum.
