The Miami Heat became just the 2nd 8th seed ever to advance to the NBA finals with a game 7 victory over the Celtics in Boston last night, 103-84 the final. The Heat will now take on the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.

Concerning the NHL Playoffs last night, the Las Vegas Golden Knights ended the Dallas Stars season in empathic fashion with a 6-0 shutout victory. The Golden Knights will now take on the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

In the MLB yesterday, Marcus Stroman went the distance as the Chicago Cubs shutout the Tampa Bay Rays at Wrigley 1-0 the final. Stroman gave up just a single hit in the contest while striking out 8 to earn the victory. Cubs and Rays battle again tonight at Wrigley.

Speaking of shutouts, the St. Louis Cardinals were shut out yesterday by the Kansas City Royals 7-0 the final. Adam Wainwright took the loss for the Cards. Cards and Royals go at it again tonight at Busch.

And it was, indeed, an emotional night at the Rate as Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks made his return to the team after a battle with cancer. Hendriks worked an inning giving up 3 hits and 2 runs as the Sox fell to the visiting LA Angels 6-4 in the final. Sox and Angels face off again tonight at the Rate.
