A former county prosecutor in Coles County has been charged with seeking sexual favors from women in exchange for favorable treatment of their cases in court.

33-year-old Brady Allen was an assistant state’s attorney from December 2018 until he resigned in August, 2020.

The Illinois Attorney General’s Office says Allen engaged in inappropriate sexual conversations with several female defendants by phone, email, or through social media, and solicited sexual contact with an understanding that he would give the individuals preferential treatment in return.

Allen is also accused of attempting to bribe one woman by offering to pay her fines and court costs if she could persuade another woman not to testify against him.

Allen now faces 32 felony counts, including official misconduct, bribery, and witness intimidation.
