Participants range in age from late teens and early 20s to seniors in their 70s. Some have attended the group for years and use it as an opportunity for socialization, while new members attend to learn from peers who have already experienced the struggles of adjusting to this major change in their and their families’ lives. Meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at SCIL’s office, 330 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield, IL 62704. At this time, group members have all chosen to participate in person. If you are someone who is not comfortable with participating in person or you are unable to make it into the office, a Zoom link will be posted each month for online participation.
