The Sangamon Mass Transit District opened its new customer service window at the Transfer Center at the Springfield Sangamon County Transportation Center.
The opening marks the first time customer service representatives have been available to SMTD passengers at the Transfer Center to facilitate bus pass sales, answer questions, and renew certain types of discount passes.
Among services available at the customer service window are the issuing or renewal of Benefit Access passes authorized by the Illinois Department on Aging, sales of one-day, seven-day, and thirty-one-day magnetic strip period passes, and BusTap cards passengers can load set dollar amounts on to draw on without time limits.
