Rocki’s Excited For The State Fair [VIDEO]

I love the State Fair! I think I just love State Fairs in general – I’m from the Midwest after all. Actually, I was born not far from what I consider one of the best State Fairs in the Nation – The Minnesota State Fair. Now living in Springfield, I eagerly look forward to my time at the IL State Fair.

When I moved here, first thing I was told to do was try a Vose Corn Dog. Initially thinking a corn dog is just a corn dog, I went in with lower expectations… and I was WRONG. Vose corn dogs are a cut above the rest. They seem to use herbs giving more of a savory rather than sweet taste. I fell in love.

Then I tried the famous rib eye sandwich. Obviously there was a lot to love there, but all in all its just the feeling of being at the fair. Not too mention a pretty great line up at the Grand Stand this year.

If you aren’t familiar, here is a quick history: The Illinois State Fair is an annual festival, centering on the theme of agriculture, hosted by the U.S. state of Illinois in the state capital, Springfield. The state fair has been celebrated almost every year since 1853.

The 2024 Illinois State Fair runs from August 8th through August 18th. The Fairgrounds are open from 7 a.m. to Midnight for the duration of the Fair. The Fair Administration Office is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the fair.
