Thanks to an executive order from the Illinois Department of Public Health, schools in Illinois are now able to carry inhalers for all students.

The order allows all trained school workers to treat any student suffering an asthma attack or any emergency respiratory illness with inhalers or other medications;
before, schools needed standing orders from a doctor.

The new order streamlines the process for trained school workers as well.
