Growing up in the Midwest, I distinctively remember having 4 seasons. You know; Winter, Fall, Spring and Summer? It made life easy. You knew going out the door in the morning, that most likely, the weather wouldn’t change too much throughout the day. I didn’t have to grab a jacket just in case, or wear extra layers if things got too hot – but today, it seems totally different.
The weather we’ve been having here in Springfield recently, along with the rest of the Midwest, has just been confusing!
The past two days, it was amazing outside. I did feel a little weird enjoying 78 degree weather in February, but I wasn’t about to complain – Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow after all.
However, today I wake up after not looking at the forecast, and saw my breath in the apartment. We obviously didn’t have the heat on as it was 65 degrees when we went to bed. Needless to say – a bit shocking.
Either way, it keeps us on our toes!
Thanks be to the amazing technology we carry in our hands these days that can tell us what to expect. If not for that, I’d be lost in the shadows. Enjoy the weather out there – whatever it’s currently like!
