Anyone who has been hesitant to donate blood may soon have an incentive to change their mind.
HB 4250 introduced by Democratic Rep. Maurice West of Rockford would create an income tax credit of $250 for taxpayers who make four or more qualified donations of human whole blood or human blood components during the taxable year.
Most healthy individuals can donate whole blood six times a year.
