Springfield Firefighter Peter Miller recognized for saving woman in local retail store

City of Springfield Firefighter Peter Miller has been recognized for saving a woman from a heart attack at a local retail store.

According to a fire department press release, Miller was off-duty shopping with his family when he heard a commotion and discovered a woman had collapsed and was unresponsive.

Miller initiated CPR and employed an Automated External Defibrillator at the scene, restoring the woman’s circulation and breathing.

The department says his rapid intervention was pivotal in stabilizing the patient’s condition.
