The company has announced a second store is coming to Springfield, as well as a location in Jacksonville which is a part of their aggressive expansion plans.
Five Below targets tweens and teenagers with products priced at five dollars or less.
A ‘coming soon’ sign is visible in the former space occupied by Gallina Pizza in the Capital City Shopping Center, just off of South Dirksen Parkway. A similar sign is on display at the former Sears Hometown Store space in the Lincoln Square Shopping Center in Jacksonville. Signage at both locations mention a ‘Fall 2023’ target date and direct those interested in employment to visit the company’s website.
The original Five Below in Springfield opened in White Oaks Plaza in 2013.
According to the Springfield Business Journal, the company cites “momentum” from holiday sales in 2022 to the announcement of 200 more stores opening this year.
