The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will hold a free event on July 26.

Historian Lucas Morel will speak about the 1860 presidential campaign that saw Lincoln win his first election to national office.

The Republican’s victory led directly to the secession of 11 states and the Civil War. The event can be seen live at the Museum or online, and require registration in advance. Links can be found below.
