It was quite the 9th-inning comeback for the Chicago Cubs in Milwaukee last night as the Cubs scored three runs in the top of the 9th inning to defeat the Brewers 4-3.
Michael Tachman supplied the big hit for the Cubs, a 2 RBI double. Nico Hoerner then drove in the winning run for the Cubs. Michael Rucker picked up the win in relief, and Adbert Azolay worked a scoreless 9th to earn his 5th save of the season. Cubs and Brewers wrap up their series this afternoon in Milwaukee.
A throwing error by pitcher Jordan Hicks in the bottom of the 9th inning led the St. Louis Cardinals to a 10-9 loss last night in Miami. Hicks took the loss for the Cards. Nolan Gorman and Jordan Walker went deep for the Cards in the contest. The Cards and Marlins wrap up their series tonight in Miami.
The Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays got rained out last night at the Rate. The same two teams will play a doubleheader today. First pitch for game 1 is scheduled for 4:10p CT.
