Getting from Sangamon County to Menard could be a bit more difficult for some over the coming days.
While the Sangamon Mass Transit District – SMTD – is currently back in service across much of the county, the Sangamon Menard Area Regional Transit – also known as SMART – is not, due to ongoing power outages across the general area.
While SMART staff say that they’ve attempted to contact individuals with previously scheduled rides, they also noted that – due to power and other outages – many are difficult to reach by conventional means.
Residents with additional questions may contact the Sangamon County Board Office at 217-753-6650 until power and phone service are restored to the SMART facility.
