A former Springfield alderwoman could soon return to city service.

Kristin DiCenso has been nominated by Mayor Misty Buscher to become the chair of the city’s local liquor control commission.

The commission assists the mayor in hearing issues and complaints related to licensed liquor establishments. DiCenso served as Ward 6 alderwoman until this spring, after she decided not to seek another term in office.

If approved by the City Council, she would be paid at least $188 a month for each month during which the commission meets.
