Illinois lawmakers have a lot on their plate – and literally just hours before the scheduled end of the spring session at the Capitol.

Legislative leaders adopted a calendar with one of the earliest adjournment dates on record, May 19.

That leaves the General Assembly just a handful of days to complete work on the budget and address other concerns, including calls for ethics reform, creating new district boundaries for an elected Chicago school board, and dealing with the Chicago Bears’ request for tax incentives to help finance their desire to build a new stadium and move the team to Arlington Heights.

WMAY will have more on all of these issues as they find resolutions across these final days!
