Chicago has a new mayor.
Brandon Johnson was sworn in Monday morning.
The former Cook County Commissioner was one of the two top vote-getters in a February primary that unseated incumbent Lori Lightfoot; Johnson then held on to defeat former Chicago school chief Paul Vallas in the April runoff.
Johnson inherits a city with multiple challenges, including revenue shortfalls, a pension crisis, an influx of migrants being sent from other states, and concerns about violent crime.
