The University of Illinois Springfield has been recognized as a voter-friendly campus.

The designation is given to colleges and universities around the country that have taken steps to encourage students to register and vote.

UIS is one of 258 campuses in 38 states to receive the recognition from the Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.

UIS says it has developed a campus action plan for voter education, registration, and turnout.
