What a wild NCAA Tournament it has already been! With just days gone, upsets have emerged from the woodwork in palpable ways.

While Illinois lost to Arkansas, as was previously discussed, Purdue also was stunned last evening by Farleigh Dickinson in the last seconds. In other news, Memphis also lost to Florida Atlantic University, Furman beat Virginia, Princeton shocked Arizona, and Pitt has beaten Iowa State too.

With all of those upsets, it seems difficult to imagine that the tournament could get crazier – but it certainly will in all likelihood!

In other news, the Chicago Bulls were able to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves in double overtime last night by the final score of 139-131; Demar DeRozan went off for 49 points and 14 boards in the effort; your Bulls will be playing Miami next on Saturday night, 7 pm central time.

Meanwhile, with the Blackhawks off on Friday, the St. Louis Blues were playing, and were able to win their own game by a final score of 5-2 over the Washington Capitals.

And in our final story, local former hockey player and current part of the Springfield Jr. Blues organization, Zack Defreitas, passed away on Friday night after a nearly years-long battle with colorectal cancer; keep Zack and his family and friends in your thoughts please!
