If you’re traveling in the Chicago area, Illinois State Police are advising caution as they have seen an increase in violent road rage incidents on Chicago-area expressways.

Overall, shootings on Chicago highways are down from their peak in 2021, but the percentage of incidents stemming from road rage is up.

There have been nine road rage shootings in the Chicago area so far this year.

Police say you should watch out for drivers using aggressive tactics and avoid escalating the situation through hand gestures or other reactions.
