A suspect is in custody after reportedly threatening to shoot people at a Springfield store.
Newschannel 20 reports police were called to the Hy-Vee store on MacArthur Monday morning in response to the man’s conduct.
Officers tasered the man after he failed to comply with their orders, keeping his hand on his waistband while continuing to make threats.
The man was treated for minor injuries after he was tasered. Police say the man may have been suffering from mental illness.
He was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Formal charges are pending.
