As the nation marks the 50th anniversary of the landmark, but now overturned, Roe v. Wade decision, area members of Congress are weighing in on social media.

Republican Congresswoman Mary Miller touted her perfect grades from several pro-life groups and said advocating pro-life policies was one of her, quote, “most sacred priorities in Congress.”

Meanwhile, Democratic Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski tweeted that last year’s Dobbs decision stripped away rights from women and said Congress must restore a woman’s right to choose. And Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth says abortion bans are about “controlling women,” and also called on Congress to enshrine abortion rights in the law.
