Springfield City Council To Consider Expenditures For Poplar Place, Lincoln Library

Springfield aldermen are still days away from getting the proposed budget for the city’s new fiscal year… but they are being asked to approve some late expenditures in the current fiscal year.

 

New ordinances on first reading include a request for a supplemental appropriation of $1.3 million for demolition and clearance of 66 housing units in the Poplar Place neighborhood.

 

Aldermen will also consider a request for nearly $500,000 to replace two public elevators in the Lincoln Library main branch downtown. Both ordinances will be up for a vote later this month.
