An Auburn man has been sentenced to nearly 70 years in prison for sexually assaulting his young daughter.

The sentence was handed down this week against 34-year-old Mason Bertrand, who was found guilty of multiple charges, including predatory criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint, and sexual exploitation of a minor. Bertrand had been accused of repeatedly assaulting his then 13-year-old daughter from April of 2018 through September of 2019.

The victim testified in court about the abuse she suffered and the impact it had on her. In addition to the 69-year sentence, Bertrand will have to register as a sexual predator for life.
