Springfield aldermanic races for next year are starting to take shape.
Seven incumbent aldermen have filed for re-election… Ward 1’s Chuck Redpath, Ward 2’s Shawn Gregory, Ward 3’s Roy Williams, Ward 5’s Lakeisha (la-KEE-sha) Purchase, Ward 8’s Erin Conley, Ward 9’s Jim Donelan (DON-a-lun) and Ward 10’s Ralph Hanauer. As of Monday, only Williams had a challenger, as William Eddington has filed to run in Ward 3.
For open seats on the City Council, two candidates have filed in Ward 6… Alyssa Haaker (HAH-ker) and Jennifer Notoriano. Larry Rockford is running in Ward 4, and Brad Carlson has filed in Ward 7. The filing period runs through next Monday.
