Taiwan has agreed to purchase more than $2 billion worth of Illinois corn and soybeans over the next two years.
The agreement between the state of Illinois and the Taiwanese government calls for Taiwan to buy $2 billion worth of soybeans and $600 million in corn in 2023 and 2024.
It’s the state’s second multi-year, multi-billion-dollar deal with Taiwan, after a $2.2 billion agreement in 2019.
