Vice President Kamala Harris is praising Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois officials for protecting abortion rights, not just for women who live in Illinois, but also for women coming here from states with more restrictive abortion laws.
Harris joined Pritzker and other officials for a roundtable discussion in Chicago Friday on the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
The vice president said that access to abortion is part of ensuring women have access to any and all forms of health care… and she warned the decision limiting abortion rights could also be used someday to restrict access to contraception or to limit marriage equality.
